Oh, Look! Words!

There’s this thing that most authors hate-well, at least I hate it-and that thing is website creation. This is why when my website went tits up years ago, I never bothered to start over. I’d rather write three novels a year than create a website. And yet, here I am.

Who am I, you ask? I wish I could say I’m something impressive here but I don’t want to stretch the truth and lose you right at the beginning. In all honestly, I am a person of moderate consequence who likes to tell stories, mostly of the fantastical kind. I currently have 5 novels, which are published independently, and I have aligned myself with a group of very cool, like-minded independent authors, editors and artists to form a creative collective and independent book imprint called Mint in Box Press.

So far I’ve covered hating website-building and liking telling stories. What else, what else . . .

Oh yes! Whiskey. I love whiskey, particularly of the Irish variety. When I’m writing, my libation of choice is Writer’s Tears. A little tongue-in-cheek, yes, but it’s just so damn delicious.

What do I plan to write about here? Well, there’s the novel creation process, of course. I’m currently working on the third and final installment of my Doomsday series and hope to have it out by Halloween this year. Of course, I’ll have information on novel releases as well as discussions of books I’m reading or discussions with other authors. I will talk about the contests I enter, like the NYC Midnight Short Story Competition and SPFBO and I totally encourage group commiseration about them. There’s also cosplay, which is an integral part of my life, especially from April through July, culminating in the pop-culture nerdageddon that is San Diego Comic-Con.

Speaking of Comic-Con, we’re about 2 weeks out and I’m still working on a handful of things. Leading up to the big event I’ll be posting more about the cosplay creation process and the creative endeavors of other Mint in Box Press authors, one of whom, Greg Burke, has a booth in Small Press! (Details and booth number to follow).

If you stuck with me this far, thank you for reading my little introduction. Please follow me here, on Instagram and Facebook for more posts, more information, more adventure, more whiskey talk (and also cats)!
